Anyone think Tommy Bowden would be a good fit at UNC? Knows the ACC, recruits well, and not much expectations at Carolina other than making bowl games.

Report: Mike London says no thanks to Penn State

CBSSports.com's Jim Rodenbush reports that Penn State contacted London before Paterno was official dismissed by the Board of Trustees. According to the Washington Post, London told Trustees Charman Steve Garban that he was not interested in the job.

Contrary to my earlier post about Mike London and a possible interest from Penn State about the head coaching job, per CBS Sports.com, as linked above, Mike London denies that anyone from Penn State reached out to him about a job. As this linked article suggests, it could have been that someone reached out to his agent and not him.

The alleged contact with Mike London has the Hoos in Cville antsy, but the consensus is that he wouldn't leave. He's getting paid $2m a year, and he's got a chance to establish a legacy at UVA. He's got a 6-3 team poised to be a contender in the ACC. No way he leaves

Joker on the hot seat?

He should be but our Athletic Director is a fricking idiot. They're going to be lucky if they have 20,000 fans at the next game, simply because fans are tired of his bullshite and have decided to hit 'em in the pocketbook by not showing up.

There's also been some talk that the Board of Trustees could force Barnhart's hand since they have dissolved the UKAA. We'll see.

I think the signs of life we showed the last two weeks can/will only hurt Joker's case. Unfortunately, I don't think there's any way he gets fired till at least after next season.

Wasn't ASU favored to win their division? And from what you posted, he has an overall winning record (although barely). How in the hell does that put him on the hot seat? This isn't Bama or Ohio State we're talking about here. It's Arizona State.

Since year 1 he's 21-25. Teams continue to play undisceplined football, can't close games, and loses to teams they have no business losing to.

They were favored to win division in a horrible division. They are now dependent on UCLA losing to accomplish that.

Hot Seat:

Pat Hill at Fresno State is 3-7 this year and 26-23 over the past four seasons, including losing their last three bowl games. Over his 15 year tenure, he's 111-78, with a bowl record of 4-7 and one conference title in 1999.

ETA: The WAC title in '99 was actually shared by Fresno, Hawaii, and TCU, so no outright conference titles in 15 seasons.

Well so much for that. I doubt the seat would have been that hot had they lost, though.
