From Butch Jones Wikipedia page On December 7, 2012, amidst expectations by fans for a high profile coach, Jones was announced as the head coach at University of Tennessee . It is expected that Tennessee will see the lowest ticket and merchandise sales in their history. Jones is now making 3 million dollars a year, and is expected to start receiving his multi-million dollar buyout after losses to Vanderbilt and Kentucky in his first season. Tennessee does not want Butch Jones, but the athletic director and chancellor are from Alabama and Florida, respectively, and have no passion to see the University of Tennessee to be successful. Maybe the search for the next coach can start now and before Butch Jones gives Tennessee a even worse public image.

We'll have to see how he does with a team not built by Kelly

Sure. If he can inherit a team from Brian Kelly and lose to Derek Dooley, I wonder what he can do with a team he inherits from Derek Dooley.

Indeed I do, he hasn't done anything that would nous my hair back if I was a vol fan, he hasn't won with his players yet.

And recruiting is a must in the SEC.

This whole time I have been thinking about Butch Davis... at least it's not him.

I think that is the best hire of the 4 SEC spots.

Sorry. But, that is funny.

Look, we just don't know. Perhaps, this guy is more steak than sizzle. Let's hope so.

I've never been too big on the "Coach B won with Coach A's players" stuff.

The fact remains that there is a lot of unknown. Unfortunately, UT really should have gotten a more KNOWN entity. That does NOT mean that this is a bad hire. Just a bit more risk than expected.
