He set offensive records while at Illinois. Illinois has had some really really shitty offenses apparently because I wasn't impressed with his stay there until the school records were mentioned.

He's got 3 QB's for the next 6-7 years that are all better than anyone he had at Illinois in Wilson and the Allen bros. I think he'll do well as an OC, not sure about HC b/c we've never seen him run the whole show

He mentioned that eventually JLS wouldn't have "Petrino Jr" around to run the offense.
People who think Paul Petrino is unable to run an effective offense automatically lose my attention in any matter regarding the Arkansas coaching situation. It's blatant ignorance if you think he can't run the offense to Bobby's standards. Hell, Paul helped him build the playbook. People will doubt him until Arkansas starts putting up the same numbers they did last season. I'm not worried about the offense at all.

Agreed. No way it happens.
I wouldn't say 0%, but it's pretty close. It's just kind of weird for him to stay so close to campus and still be in contact with the team a month before the season starts. That's the only thing that keeps me from saying 0%.

our offense will be fine. However to say Paul will run it as well as bobby just isn't true. Bobby was the best play caller in college football.

he probably doesn't know anyone else. I mean honestly with his personality you know he isn't mr. popular everywhere he goes.

Illinois was 73rd in total offense last year

Saying Paul will pick up right where Bobby left off is like saying 30 Rock wouldn't miss a beat if Billy Baldwin took over for Alec

I didn't say he would run it as well as Bobby, but I do believe he will run it the way Bobby would more times than not.

And none of those kids were Petrino's recruits. That's like saying Bobby's offense sucks because his first year at Arkansas we had Casey Dick at QB and went 5-8.

Butch Davis hoping to coach in college again

What I posted almost 2 weeks ago about Davis' people making it known that he wants the Arkansas job, ESPN now has a story out this morning how Davis wants to coach in college again.

Given the stories about academic fraud at UNC is he not damaged goods?

Yeah because y'all have really been pulling in top level talent up there. Also, y'all were the one touting his Illinois tenure.

It's incredibly ignorant to think he'll be good just because of his last name. Tito Jackson wishes the world works that way though.

Our offense actually has some elite talent on it. defense on the other hand is going to be interesting.

So you admit we haven't been pulling in the best classes, yet in 2010 we had the leagues top rusher and top passer at the same time and 2011 our first year starter led the league in passing.

Solely because of Bobby Petrino

Two different QB's leading the league in passing back to back years is JUST the coach? Has nothing to do with bringing in good talent or anything?

If I were Arkansas I'd look at people like Art Briles, James Franklin (pending what he does in year 2) and Manny Diaz

Drac would love that, as long as the piss is coming from A&M milkmen.
