Offensive HC vs. Defensive HC

which kind do you prefer? or do you strictly go coach to coach?
I like head coaches with a defensive background. They typically have an attitude about them that brings and intensity that most offensive coaches lack, not all but typically. This is all my opinion of course, what yall got?

I just like good coaches. I like teams that create good team chemistry you can see on the field.

Whichever is the better recruiter and knows how to utilize playmakers on both sides of the ball.

That's why Urban and UF are in line to win the SEC and MNC for the 3rd time in 4 years right? Because you need a defensive coach in the SEC.
bullshite. In the SEC, you need a coach who can manage one side of the ball, like a Saban and Meyer. Miles at LSU cannot do that. He doesn't even make any decisions on offense 99% of the time as he proved in the Ole Miss fiasco with 3 passes after getting into FG range to win it.
You can't have a CEO coach in the SEC. PERIOD! That is what is killing LSU. We have 10 coaches including Miles. Only 3 are applied to the defense. 4 if you count Robinson who is here for being a special teams coach.
We have 5 offensive coaches, and out of those 5 + Miles, we have no legitimate QB coach, our RB coach can't coach his position to save his life, and our OL coach sucks too.
Thing is that you see teams improving in the SEC with head coaches who can run one side of the ball.
UT - Kiffen = OC
MSU - Mullen = OC
Arky - Petrino = OC
Ole Miss - Nutt = OC
UK - consistently winning seasons because Brooks ran the offense.
Bama - Saban = DC
UF - Meyer = OC
UGA - Richt = OC (when they were dominant, has let a lot of control to his assistants, and you see what happens)
Almost all of the successful programs or IMPROVING programs have HC who are major players in control of one side of the ball.

I think you need to look at more history. We will see if UF has the same run without touchdown Tebow and co. No doubt CUM is a good coach history still says Defense wins Championships.

They did not win in 2006 before Tebow's awesomeness. I am sorry to tell you.
Meyer has won where ever he's gone and done it with dominance. Keep saying its all Tebow, but UF isn't defined by one player. He's definitely a great player, but basically what will happen is they'll have more running backs involved the next few years with him gone.

Preferably defense, but it's more important to have a great leader with a vision and knows how to make good hiring decisions since staff assistants come and go.

Here's my point. You can have a great offensive head coach who can control your offense as long as he hires a great DC and solid defensive coaches.
I assure you that Meyer doesn't interfere much in Strong's defensive playcalling and coaching. The point was that your HC has to be fully involved in one side of the ball.
When Spurrier dominated at UF, he had Stoops running his defenses and those were pretty damn good.
Fact is to name ONE BCS title outside of Miles' in 2007 that was won by a true CEO as head coach?

i know people will disagree with me but to me that was the biggest problem from that game. youre the head coach, grow a pair. if you want to run the ball, you run the ball!

Miles has been an OC for all of three years at Oklahoma state. He was a position coach at every other stop he's been in his career.
Was he even that impressive as an OC? The team only had one winning season under him when he as OC with records of 4-8, 5-6, and 8-4.
I don't see anything there to make him seem like an amazing coordinator. The thriving of OSU's offense since he left under Gundy tells me likely who ran that offense while Miles was HC.
