O selling Ensminger on the job

How does this work? Nobody is saying Ensminger doesn't have a good offensive mind. But he said he didn't want the permanent job last year, and reportedly said the same thing this year.
Is it reasonable to assume he doesn't want the added work and longer hours? So, what did Ed tell him about that, to persuade him to take the job? "Don't worry, Steve, we won't be burning any midnight oil."

Here’s the thing unless you’re “great” the amount of work and effort and everything they put into it is only so important. They can work 20hrs/week and do a fairly decent job or they could work 80hrs/week and still not do a “good” job, so to them and in their eyes does that really matter?!?!
Somebody like Aranda or Saban or even a Canada have such an organized system that more input =greater results, but when you’re more or less pissing in the wind like O, how much does your time really matter?!?!
