One of the candidates is still coaching . He spoke about the talent at wide receiver being developed and utilized to its full potential . Johnson is a top tier wideout coach has had stops with the Saints and Tulane (failed stint at head coach) .
Responsible for the development of two of the best wideouts in NFL history in Reggie Wayne and Andre Johnson when coached at Miami.
Currently the Wideout coach and offensive assistant for the Saints.
I doubt as offensive coordinator but he could be the guy brought in to help Mickey Joseph , Also Johnson was a good recruiter in the New Orleans area during his time at Tulane .

Coach O was going after Johnson last year when he left Chicago but he chose New Orleans. What changed?

Co-OC?
Curtis Johnson has evaded my recruiting dreams for nearly two decades now.

Why the hell would he leave the NFL to come to LSU to “help” our WR coach? This sounds absurd.

Why would CJ take the job?

I could see a Co-OC position. I know he made nearly $1M at Tulane, but can’t find anything on Saints salary.
But let’s say you pay CJ $700K and Steve $850K. Bout the same salary as Canada. Slowly begin the process of exiting Mickey Joseph.

What experience does he have at calling plays? How does Co-OC make any sense?

He ain't coming to help Joseph. Maybe to replace Joseph and a pay increase.

I would think O would assign Steve as the play caller in this scenario.

You guys are still missing the co-oc thing. If E is named co-oc then he will be the one calling plays, and the other will design and scheme. Just like E called plays from Cams playbook last year.

Ensminger becomes oc. Joseph moves to te. Johnson is wr coach and co oc. Ensminger calls plays.

Ok then I will rephrase
What experience does he have drawing up plays and scheming?

Not happening. He will have a bigger role in the offense which is why I don’t see Johnson coming. Sullivan will be a bigger part than you think.

I really feel this was the plan all along. People saying O didnt have a plan.. Maybe he did and this was it.
