Can't believe some Vol fans actually believe he'd ever come there.

not specific to you, but why do people think this is some homerun hire?

Because it's fun to indulge in fantasies. Ever think about what you'd do if you won the lottery? Same concept here.

I mean, it's more likely than Peyton and probably Kiffin .

Even if he ended up being a dud, the off-season leading up to the 2018 season would be the best time to be a VOL in a long, long time.

Personally I think he would kill it on the recruiting trail too.

IMO there are no sure things on that list.

The money line is moving that way because so many delusional Vols are betting that Gruden would walk away from $10 million+ a year in a stress-free environment just so he could have that dream job righting the train wreck in Knoxville where fans have the most realistic expectations.

Besides his ties to the university, the only that makes me think this isn't as crazy as some people is that there is no way he survives at ESPN. With the way it's going for them, there's just no way to justify paying him that much for only being on air 16 nights a year plus some quarterback camps. He is the most obvious cut there is.

I think y'all end up with Petrino.. just a hunch, nothing to back it up.

I must say I’m pretty worried. I don’t think Tennessee has a real back up plan.

Schiano is a very real possibility. Would take.

I am starting to think this is likely.

-Gruden says no again, Bob Stoops laughs in our face.
-VOLS are not interested in Chip and Petrino due to past indiscretions.
-Patterson, Gundy and Mullen are content at current jobs.
-Frost goes to UF.

Not sure who else is available at that point that would be better than Schiano.

Maybe Campbell. For the record, none of those guys have turned us down yet.
