The only negative I can think of is age. Hopefully we can get ten years out of him.

Recruits well
Gets a lot from the QB position
Hires great staff members
Hungry for a championship
Knows how to win consistently
Great Xs & Os guy

Plenty of other reasons, just tired and won't list them all.

The bottom line is winning, and Kelly has done a whole lot of it. On paper there's no reason to think that won't improve at a place like LSU.

I give Woody a solid A- or B+. This is a very significant improvement over O and Miles. I truly believe this will turn out to be a solid match. I'm calling it right now; We'll win at least two National Championships with Brian Kelly.

Don’t even need that.

5-8 years of Kelly rebuilding the roster that O destroyed, specifically the OL, will have us in perfect position to make another home run hire right when Saban is hanging it up.

I love this hire and think it’s absolutely perfect for what we need right now.

Didn't think he was a possible candidate. Translation = didn't think he would leave ND.

SW has hired a mature, experienced head coach who will lead our program. In all facets - recruiting, player dev, hiring/retaining staff, facilities, and COACHING. He brings stability and professional credibility to our program which is sorely needed after CEOs last two years. Bluntly our program's leadership, and ALL that comes with it, will be at a level unseen since Saban departed. Strictly business, and the business is a sustainable winning LSU brand.

He needs to hit the ground running IRT rounding out his staff, HS recruiting, current player retention, and raiding the transfer portal for key contributors. I look forward to seeing him leading this team.

I have lots of questions. Brian Kelly would have been a homerun not that long ago, but by the time he builds relationships with the LHSAA coaches, he'll be retirement age.

I can't shake the "meh" on this one, solely based on timing. Seems like flash over (long-term) substance, although without question he's a great coach.

(ETA: I don't like him, personally, either. He is a significantly better choice than Kiffin or Jimbo, however.)
