I live among them and I can tell you that those who know anything about football are not happy about this hire. Most thought that they were going to hire the HC from Boise State.

Tennessee, Georgia and LSU stand to benefit the most from this hire. FSU also has the be thrilled since Jimbo knows WM's defenses as well as anybody.
This was an incredibly bad hire in my opinion.
The other strange thing is that UF is well known for having a high powered offense. They have never done well with a defensive minded head coach. They made the same mistake with Zook.
All I can guess is that all of the coaches on their so called short list said thanks but, no thanks. Then they panicked and hired WM, who was on a sinking ship at Texas. He jumped at the opportunity.
