Put on a Clinic? If LSU wanted Napier, we could have had him. Let’s stop pretending we got rejected by Napier.

I like Napier and he’s probably a nice guy, but he never was in a position to reject LSU.

This board is so dumb. My post isn’t about Napier. It’s about how Florida had a plan and executed their plan. LSU doesn’t appear to have a plan, and it looks like we’re fumbling around in the dark. Use USC if you want. They clearly had a plan and absolutely punked us. I don’t care about Napier. I care about how disoriented our search appears to be.

I mean Napier was never an option man.

Florida hired a coach desperate to move on.

The difference is that LSU fans would have melted if Napier was our top target

I mean if that’s a clinic then it’s the equivalent of a power point presentation out of someone’s garage.

They singled out a coach who was ready to move on immediately and he said yes.

A clinic?

Lsu could've hired napier.

and Florida showed us how it is done. Now we are searching the floor for crumbs. Woodward and his incompetent posse are dumbasses.

The difference is he was never a target. LSU offers this dude months ago and he asks “ where the frick do I sign?”.

OP said Florida put on some great clinic and class on how to hire a coach when in reality they offered a dude who was willing to ride at any second the possibility presented itself.

They marched up and offered a dude that has been ready to roll for months.

What did they show?

No man, it’s about how Florida offered a guy LSU had no desire to offer in the first place.

UF has a solid AD. It starts there.

They offered a desperate coach ready to get the frick out of the Sun Belt. Their AD did nothing, or made any kind of move to separate himself as a top tier AD.

He offered a desperate coach and he said yes.

Not lazy, traditional.

They took the highest rated and available guy on the board. Napier would have been on every list in the SEC, including Alabama.

exactly, they kept the process simple (keep it simple stupid), went after the highest rated AVAILABLE guy on their board, nailed it down, in place and ready to get to work. Mean while we now look like dumbasses picking through the dumpster looking for scraps of whatever leftovers we can find.

exactly, we never even gave him an interview, a young up and comer, one of hottest names out there, right down the road, WTF kind of search is that? That is the definition of incompetence.

It was a lazy hire by Florida. They just took the first available.

Pretty sure UF has been looking a while. Their AD handled it better.

No, the point of the entire thread we are posting in was that Florida made some great call and grabbed their guy after making all the right moves which is bullshite, they snagged a sun belt guy ready to get the frick out any chance he got when a big time came calling.

Whether LSU should have offered Napier is a completely different subject.

They got a dude from the sun belt and let him dictate absolutely everything while getting paid an extra week to not coach at Florida.

That's basically the opposite of how you do it. They choose to cheap out on the salary aspect of the hire. I would much rather get the best dude available then going for an easy option on the cheap

It's absolutely messy at this point but LSU will most likely end up with the better coach

Ok. How about this? Florida didn’t frick around with someone that USC stole from them, and Florida is not fumbling around in the dark right now, two weeks before the early signing period. Is that better?
