No game today is a factor in the coaching hire

Some simply fail to understand that the coach was hired before Woodward ever executed the O firing. This is a long term plan being carried out. Firing O was not step one. Identifying and securing the new coach was step one.

There is no way anyone can say they know who the next coach is but we can deduce that it is someone with a resume of accomplishments on and off the field who is worthy giving O $17 million to get lost. That list is very short and doesn’t include Jimbo, Tucker, Napier, Aranda or such caliber coaches. These are all good coaches but just shy of the mark.

This would be the correct approach. The hire should be made on his entire body of work, not one year or one game.
