He got interviews last year. He was expected to garner interest for jobs again this year
An interview doesn’t really mean anything yet in terms of him being the expected HC tho so not sure why you have the title that way

interviewing for a HC job seems like a big step for a position coach in the NFL. He started coaching in 2019.
lol I added a question mark for you on the title

Nothing he hasn’t done before (interviewing)
Went pretty deep in the progress with the Eagles last cycle. Similar to Flores in a lot of ways coming out that building although he hasn’t called the plays as often as Flores did. But he was at one point calling some plays for the pats. He’s well respected as a fast riser around the league.
The path to being a HC has gotten a lot quicker in recent years with the push to younger coaches. He would still need to knock a teams socks off in an interview to have a shot att getting the job with his resume

Probably hoping for a Vrabel type home run hire.
As a Broncos fan, I’d be looking at Leftwich, Harbaugh, and maybe Flores.

Paton (Broncos GM) reportedly wanted Dan Quinn to join him whenever he got the GM job, so this could all be semantics and he’s just checking the boxes to hire the guy he wants already

Good point on Vrabel, but even he had a few more yrs experience before he took on the HC role.
That's a solid list of candidates. I figured they would be going for an offensive coach. Maybe throw in Kellen Moore in there

Why Leftwich? He didn’t do much before Brady got there.

Eh he’s just a hot(ish) name who presumably had a hand in Kyler Murray’s development and Arizona’s resurgent offense.
People saying Dan Quinn and Kellen Moore are probably more correct though. I’m not sold on Quinn, but Moore seems low risk high reward imo. He should get an interview.

I’d rather Bieniemy, Moore, Hackett, or Flores. No particular order.

I anticipate Moore getting scooped up by someone with the current trend of hiring hot young offensive minds.

Paton (Broncos GM)
He got out of Minnesota at the right time. He had been Spielman’s right hand man for years.
Paton had been highly regarded for years, and had turned down multiple GM interviews until Elway was able to pry him away from the Vikings.
I do wonder how much control he has in Denver with Elway still in the building and their ownership in flux.

Offer the job to Bienemy and let’s be done with it.

At this point can we start asking if there is something else going on as to why Bienemy keeps getting passed over?

Does he call plays? If not why should he get that job?

Rising star.
Think of brian flores.

Matt Nagy and Doug Pederson aren’t helping his case.

Pretty sure he was gone before Kyler Murray was drafted.

It's very early on in the process, so no one is getting passed over. That being said Broncos have also requested to interview Bienemy. Just saw a report from Ian Rapoport that I missed yesterday.

So I started this thread yesterday when the first reported interview request was for Jerod Mayo.
Broncos made 8 requests yesterday.
Jerod Mayo (LB - Patriots)
Dan Quinn (DC - Cowboys)
Kellen Moore (OC - Cowboys)
Nathaniel Hackett (OC - Packers)
Eric Bieniemy (OC - Chiefs)
Johnathan Gannon (DC - Eagles)
George Paton (OC - Rams)
Aaron Glenn (DC - Lions)
