Randy Edsell and Al Golden.

Two really good coaches.

Apparently this guy was getting mentioned a lot for the Minnisota job. I thought that was just because they were close to Canada. Canada to Miami has to be a real culture shock!

When I read in the paper this morning they had 3 primary canidates, I was shocked when I read this guy, Randy Edsell and Al Golden. A very underwhelming list IMO

Edsall has done a lot with so little at UConn. He wouldn't be an underwhelming hire at all. He's a very good coach and can develop all that Miami talent which is something Shannon wasn't able to do.

Coaches afraid to jump ship from schools with similar money for fear of being vilified in the media as liars and cutthroats

you're kidding right? no coach in america is afraid of jumping ship for a 20 million contract. the media can say what they want to; it's financial security for their familys.

For a program that has the stature of Miami, and looking at the rumors coming out when the job first opened that is a very underwhelming list, my opinion.

If this would happen, I would put Bridgewater in going to LSU higher than 50%.

I'd rather Prescott FWIW

Miami loves to hire coaches with ties to the university.....especially those associated with the glory years from 1983-1992. Butch Davis and Randy Shannon were not the most qualified coaches avaialble at the time they were hired. Trestman is in that same mold and I think that he would actually be plus for UM in the Bridgewater recruitment.

Should just hire Randy Shannon back if this is the dude you're going to end up with

i think everyone needs to cool down and let the U pick their guy. pete carroll was the like #5 choice to take over at USC. seemed to work out. same thing with muschamp. we are labeling these guys busts or bad hires before they coach a practice. give them all some time and then you can be as ruthless and subjective as you want- just give them a game or 2 before you totally give up on these guys

Wow Marc Trestman, I havent heard that name in a while. I remember Trestman when he was with the raiders. He was our OC in 02-03. Did well in 02 but sucked in 03. Who knows how he would do but its a very uninspiring pick if it happens. I would not be happy if I were a UM fan
