New DC at LSU

Sorry i couldn't find a good enough answer by searching so my apologies if this has been answered more than once before. First, Is LSU looking for a new Defensive coordinator(maybe they feel Peveto/Mallory aren't to blame)? Second, would they fire peveto and demote mallory for a new DC? And most importantly, who, realistically, would we hire? Thanks

if we got rid of them it would have to be a clean break...they'd have to go.
Les would have to be pressured into this. These guys are buddies of his.
That said, the deterioration of our defense is very evident and we NEED to replace these guys and bring in someone with more of an emphasis on a strong, aggressive style of defense.

He would probably be in line for the TCU job if Patterson left, but their DC Bumpas does a hell of a job. I think anyone in the market would have to take a look at him.

Patterson runs that D though.
Greg Robinson and Ellis Johnson would be a good start to a short list. shite, this season's blown anyway, hire Robinson as a consultant now and lets start installing his d for next year.

What's the rule on the number of coaches you can have on staff? Who would we get rid of?

Robinson is the guy I want at DC.
Just a thought though: Would Miles go back to Dunbar and would Dunbar consider the DC spot since being looked for Bo?
I don't think Miles fires Bradley Doug Mallato this year. He says it was a young defense and that these are his guys and we get the two heads are better than one system for another year. IMO.

it's not like the program wasn't looking for a DC before the two headed monster was created. nobody on thier short list said yes.
don't know if i was a money issue or what. If it is then go after a young DC at a non BCS school maybe boise states's Justin Wilcox. he was a backers coach at cal so he has some big program experience.
only problem is he has roots at boise.

how about Paul Rhoads if Tubby leaves auburn this year. He could be looking for a job.

on the same note Johnny "John" Chavis of tennessee could be looking for a job.

Up until yesterday I thought this as well. Some comments from people on here has made me reconsider.
IMO only, I think Miles has been unhappy despite what he says in the press conferences. I expect to see a new DC next year.

From what I understand Mallory is really the guy that's calling the plays on game day. Maybe he gets rid of him and just changes BDP's job title. Makes him asst. head coach/LB's and brings in someone new for the coordinators job.

this sounds like the most best, possible solution.

i'll take that but peveto really is a steaming pile of shite. everything he has touched has turned to shite. he should not be employed beyond the pop warner level.

Well w/ a very aggressive move toward new construction of facilities and with upward pressure on ticket prices and downard economic expectations, it is very possible and quite probable that Les will be pressured to make a move toward a different DC.

Yeah... typically these situations aren't handled with outright firings after one year. More like subtle demotions and movements around the staff...
shite, if we're gonna give it a go with someone on staff already, I'd rather Joe Robinson. Amidst all the bitching about how bad every other phase of our team has been, it hasn't even been noticed that our ST is a frick of a lot better this season.

There is an angle everyone seems to be missing. Maybe Les was not happy with the choices for a DC last year. So he promoted within. That has not worked out so I expect he will name one of the DC or bring in one from the outside.

that's because that angle doesn't exist. they went after a DC's but were turned down. promote from with in was the last resort. some could even look at it as a possible temporary solution waiting for the right guy to become available instead of hiring the almost right guy.

I certainly don't disagree.
