Listening to 1560 this AM and they had a dude call in with connections to the ND program and said that Stoops is going to be the coach.

He said there were two issues they had to work through (discipline of players and academic stuff). Said they have both been addressed said would not be surprised if something comes out today about it.

Also he said BK never had a chance of being the coach at ND. Apparently his life style (drinking, woman, questionable behavior) kept ND from even considering him as the possible coach.

one thing is certain, ND needs to move VERY quickly to target their guy and reel him in. With all of those key juniors deciding whether to come out or enter the draft (before the NFL implements the Rookie Salary Cap) ND needs to get the new guy in pronto so he can start recruiting the existing ND players to stay.

Bill King has said daily that it looks like ND is waiting till after Cinci's bowl game and then they will get down to business with contract negotiations. If Stoops was already a done deal, dont you think someone other than that caller would have sniffed something?

Or the caller was an ND plant looking to help get the media storm of BK until both were ready to announce it. And at the same time keep screwing with OU. CONSPIRACY THEORY!

Or the caller was a full of shite attention whore who wanted to talk on the radio...can they verify he is an insider? did they fact check anything? I mean i can call a radio station right now and say Miles is fired and being replaced by Newt Rockne and he's bringing in Bear Bryant as his OC...and i know because I'm an insider in the LSU program.

Yes one of the host (afternoon guy) is a ND alum. He told the guys at the station he has heard the samething from his ND connections.

Look I am not saying it is going to happen, but I trust the 1560 radio host a lot more than footballscoop.com

I think Brian Kelly would be a good hire, but I have questions about him...Stoops is a slam dunk...

ND can not get this wrong this time around... They haven't done anything since Lou Holtz...that was 3 coaches ago

i heard that they were looking hard at skip holtz

(...and by heard i mean read on some interent site)....I really really hope this is true.....over the past 5 years whenever I get down I just think about the ND football program and their many egotistic fans and I get a good laugh I especially laugh at jokers like brent musburger looking like fools having to talk about ND like there the greatest football team on planet earth as they are getting skull drug by every decent team they play (recently even including navy and the likes).....

If they get holtz jr. then game on BUT if they mess around and get someone like BK or JH then the party maybe over....

I have a hard time believing ND would wait until Jan. to get this done.

I had no idea that Kelly was a priest.

I think Kelly could be the next Urban Meyer or the next Dan Hawkins. I think that's too big of a gamble for ND to take. They can afford to go the Bama route and hire a sure thing.

Me too. Stoops is the better hire anyway.

I agree with you but then again isn't it the same AD over there that low balled urban Meyer (when he was the hottest commodity in college football more ND ego driven delusion) there by losing him.....only to end up with Jaba the Wies?
