I don't think Oklahoma has ever hired a "big name" except Howard Schnellenberger, and he was way past his prime and failed miserably.
Switzer, Gibbs, Blake, Stoops and Riley were all assistants prior to getting the head job, and all but Blake and Stoops were internal promotions.

There was some interference from boosters prior to Rattler being benched and this really pissed off Riley. He made it a point to bench Rattler for Caleb Williams and that Rattler would not be a distraction to the team or Riley would kick him off the team.

Only possibilities would be Alex Grinch or Cale Gundy.
Grinch is highly thought of as a coach, but has not been able to get over the hump there defensively. Gundy has the feel of a career assistant. He's been there for 20+ years and Stoops never considered him for OC.
I don't think either of those guys are who you want to ride with entering the SEC.

Yes it’s in Supa’s replies. Confirmed that Castor passed on what he was told from two OU boosters via email. Supa verified the emails as legit but cautiously called it “speculation” at the moment.

Admins are admins here. They do a decent job filtering out garbage at times but no offense, they’re no more connected to LSU than any of us, actually probably much less than some of us.
