Some random person who couldn’t even spell his name correctly posted we are going after him and the board went crazy for a day. Which is fine. It makes things fun.

If Meyer wanted to get back into college, my guess is he'd pick USC over LSU. Not because USC is the better job per se, but it feels like a better fit for him personally.

I imagine it would be easier to sell Shelley on a beach home in Malibu than a double wide in Baton Rouge

There have been 14 NC coaches since 1998. 23 years.
Saban x 7
Meyer x 3
Swinney x 2
The other 11 all have 1x apiece. So, if the criteria is simply coaches who have won multiple NCs, there are only 3 possible names. Only 2 have done it at multiple schools, and 1 of those is a midget gump.
So, you're down to either prying Swinney away from Clemson or bringing CUM back to college. The only realistic one of those is CUM who appears (like Saban) to not be suited to the NFL.
Put all of the video antics aside, and he's the only realistically available choice.
I doubt he even gets considered, but he's second in a class of only 3 people who have EVER won multiple natties.
The list of NC-winning names 1998-present for your amusement:
Saban 7
Meyer 3
Swinney 2
Fulmer 1
Bowden 1
Stoops 1
Coker 1
Tressel 1
Carroll 1
Miles 1
Chizik 1
Fisher 1
Orgeron 1
Brown 1
Saban x 7
Meyer x 3
Swinney x 2

Meyer has been successful at every school he's coached at. His track record is second to none, not even Saban. Remove big time schools and Meyer was more successful than even Saban.
If winning is the ultimate goal, Meyer is as good a candidate as ANY. Bama hired Saban to win, they didn't care about anything else...worked out pretty well. UF was a powerhouse when Meyer was there, year-in and year-out.

if they've won a NC, we actually don't want them. Does that make any sense? No but here we are.
