Multiple parties are trying to improve their position. No info is solid.

No one has a damn clue what is going on and there is 3D chess being played between LSU, Texas, O, the agents for Herman and Jimbo as well as boosters from all programs involved.
All of these people and entities know how to get info on the street to try and steer things in their direction and that is why there is so much conflicting information.
There is no way to discern what is legit. Alleva probably doesn't know if what he is being told by the pertinent parties is legit or a maneuver so how the hell does anyone here think they know?
Nothing to do but just let it play out.

I can confirm that the LSU afministration is using social media and various message board forums to test the waters on Orgeron being hired as permanent Head Coach.

If O is the HC next year, it will be because Alleva screwed the pooch and couldn't get Fisher or Herman.

O and his people are running a campaign right now that should make most politicians jealous. Unfortunately many people will be happy when O gets hired. The same people will be the ones bitching when he fails.

To me, it just doesn't seem like Herman will be our coach. He seems like a Texas guy and if it was anyone else I'd have confidence that we could convince him to come but since it's Texas and we can't compete with them money wise, I feel like we are going to lose out and have to settle for O

IMO, we wouldn't be settling for O. We would be getting a coach that has the best interest of our program at heart and not someone who is whoring themselves for the most money.
