Michigan is not going to get a big name coach unless lloyd and his cronies get their hands out of the cookie jar. I think the whole assistant coach deal is what is turning everyone off. who would take a job and then basically have an entire staff forced upon you.

You're all right, AW. I like reading your take on things.

As far as the Miles to Michigan stuff, if all of this is a plan for LSU to win the NC without distractions and Miles to go to Michigan anyway, it is a very good plan. I find it hard to believe that people are that smart, though.

If he does end up in Michigan, I won't fault him. We all know it is where he wanted to go and I never blame someone for going home. I actually feel kind of bad for the guy, the way this whole thing was messed up. If he does go, I just hope we still end up with a top coach. That is the only part that I would be upset about.

But, I hope Miles stays. Winning 11 games and playing for SEC and national titles every year is alright with me.

I tell ya one thing LSU has that Michigan cant offer....warm weather. If Michigan wasnt home, I could see moving south. Winter/cold is over rated in my book.

AW and MM, your brethren could use some reality help. I cannot think of any other MI guys who have been talking reality lately.

ANYTHING is possible but the scenario where Les goes to MI after the NCG (after all that has been brought to light so far) has a very low probability of happening. If you just look at the mess Nick made for himself, anybody can see that Les accepting a job in MI anytime in the next 12 months would be a PR nightmare for Les in a personal and professional sense as well as for Michigan. The best thing the MI alums could do is go and kick Carr and Martin in the nuts until they can only moan, then put some other qualified people in place to find a coach FAST! Michigan is not as bad a school to coach at as the impression that is being formed by this current debacle and with candidates turning them away.

AYe I agree...

Something needs to happen. As far as a Miles black eye...why? It wont be Miles taking the black eye, rather carr and martin. Or should I say blacker eye.

Say Jan 8th....NC trophy in Hand...."guys I am so sorry, things were going bad with the Herby comments blah blah...I really didnt see going home and watnted our boys to win. Now my home is calling, and I need to go take care of business. This is my 2nd home, and was proud to share championship" blah blah blah

When Momma calls you go home.

If that were to happen, I dont see the folks being upset while Miles. Provided they were looking for a coach(he informs LSU behind scene)...and he leaves with a title.

Carr and martin would share blame from our school and LSU IMO...cause everyone knows that is where he "should of ended up"...but because of BM/LC didnt get a fair shot.

Disagree. It would cause a firestorm of epic proportions. Damages recruiting and then the coaching search begins at the eleventh hour...not to mention pulling a Saban.

Thanks Aged Wolverine. It's easy to see why Les is so fond of the place. Y'all have some tremendous history on the gridiron. I hope your program gets back to where it needs to be, just as long as you don't take Miles.

And you mentioned something about the weather in Michigan -- it's 85 degrees today in Baton Rouge.

I have to disagree with you there AW. That explanation would have been acceptable UNTIL Les called the press conference just before the SEC CG. He could also get away with that explanation after next season. Anytime prior to that will be disastrous for all involved. I agree with JLC regarding the firestorm. Les leaving now would be taken as a snub like never before. Nick would look like a saint once more.

One other thing, Carr did noone any favors by locking the coordinators into the equation. By doing so he has pretty much disabled any incoming coach from trying to establish his own relational chemistry from the helm. Most coaches have big egos and by what Carr has set up, the incoming HC will have to either reign his in or just bang heads with his Cs till they get some working agreements in place, if possible. This takes some of the energy needed to rebuild the program and puts it in unnecessary places.
