What a weird situation this is. Am I reading this correct? If Miles gets fired he gets "a double payment of his remaining deal if he is fired"? What an incentive to go 0-12!

I think there was a misunderstanding somewhere.
I'm not positive but I think the new deal calls for him to be paid all of his remaining contract spread out over double the time remaining on the contract (meaning that instead of getting 200K a month for one year, he'll get 100K a month for two years).
I'm guessing someone got confused and turned that into "a double payment of his remaining deal."

Miles get's $15 million if he gets fired. Prior to this new agreement, he got $10 million for getting fired. All coaches, worth anything, this type of clause in their contract.

I don't think that's right, I think he gets whats left on his contract, capped at $15 million now instead of $10 million, spread out over twice the remaining time of his contract.
From the Tigerbait article on the changes:

4. Termination: If LSU terminates the contract, it shall pay Miles an amount equal to the sums of compensation due him for each month remaining on the length of the agreement. The liquidated damages will be paid to Miles over a period of time equal to twice the number of full months remaining on the contract in monthly installments. These payments would be reduced if Miles would obtain other employment after being terminated by LSU.
