Check out the 'could be germans' thread, a lot of Miles bashing

this is a senior lead team. I don't buy that excuse at all. game plan was shitty but I don't think that had all that much to do with Nebraska or UM.

Are you sure you've seen no evidence of it affecting the players? I know I've seen threads of peoople saying they heard players' parents talking (and maybe even some players' parents themselves) about it being a distraction.

It might not be evidence that you believe. But I don't think its accurate to say "no" evidence.

I've made the statement since the first rumors of Les to Michigan started at the beginning of the year that the situation could cost us a national championship. Add in Bo Pelini and I really think it had a lot to do with the Arkansas loss.

Bayou, maybe you missed my post?

quote:

bayou, I have never thought that the coaches were "overly distracted". and the varisty issue was one where the central figure of the team was solidly in control, in charge, and assuredly a stable force in the "aftermath". I think the coaches are professionals and I am talking more about the "team" in this....I don't know if "distracted" is the best word for this scenerio...maybe we should just say "affected". I cannot believe that with the powerful connection that there is between coaches and their athletes, that the "chemistry" of the team has not been jolted some ever since Les did the best he could to walk the fence about his future employement situation the day Carr resigned.
I still think he did the very best he could do under the circumstances...but it invariably had to shake the core of the team "karma". this time HE was the center of the storm, not the center of the haven from the storm....

And since I am a woman who also gets hung up on "facts" -- the "fact" is that just sometimes things are NOT factual...they are emotional or spiritual. I don't think any of these players are going to say, "I started feeling "shaky" about this season when CLM teared up in his Monday presser before the Ark. game"!! They may or may not even be able to identify such a thing...But will that mean that EVERYTHING was exactly the same with and inside all those players for that game? You are never going to know this for a fact, but that still doesn't mean it has to be discounted as a possibility!!

I'd agree if it was just once. But this shite - especially on the defensive side of the ball - has been going on since TULANE.
