Miles' Interview....

In all seriousness, do you really think Les wants to go to a program that needs that much work or is he angling for a contract extension here at LSU. I think we should throw the money at him, the coaching targets out there suck arse, and the future at this moment looks very strong. I'm just so afraid of either a Houston Nutt coaching here next year, and/or or epic class completely falling apart

I love Les, but he's a gone pecan. And it has nothing to do with shitty LSU fans - it's about fulfilling a dream.

Michigan is like a college football cult, and Les is a devoted follower. The chance to become high priest is mighty tempting to someone like him, and I can't blame him for it. We'll just have to wait and see.
I just hate that he might be blowing the chance to win a National Championship next year.

I remember Miles saying that Bo Schembechler told him that LSU would be a great place to coach...so maybe Miles is comfortable with haveing his own legacy at LSU. He can still have fond memories of Michigan...but he's pushing 60 and has something great going here in Baton Rouge. I think he stays.

No I understand completely that he was a OL at Michigan and grad coach I fully understand. He could end up completely ruining his head coaching career. If he doesn't rebuild UM (and quick) he could end up coaching lineman in the NFL. When he came to LSU he had instant success because of the talent we had the first year he came, Saban left a plethora of future NFL talent. He's got nothing to be excited about at UM, it's going to be a hard task, just saying

Mainly my point.....LSU is about to go through, IMO, another set of "glory years". We will have some of the most talented teams in program history, and he wants out? I say if we want nothing potentially to happen to this opportunity, why not try our hardest to keep everything, and everyone in tact?

you obviously know I mean talent wise. I follow college football, I know UM has a great tradition/past. But at this moment it's at a low point to say the least

Umm No ! Les is a good man and a good recruiter but many of his coaching decisions of late have left a lot to be desired. I say wish him well and let him hit the road

He is not the only coach capabale of winning a national championship with the team we have coming back. We will be fine either way. There is some good coaches out there.

I really think Miles loves the attention at LSU. He is on national TV almost every week...on national talk shows quite often...coaches in the best conference by far...and he doesnt have to shovel snow...why the frick would he give that up?

And again I'm not doubting the man's coaching or recruiting and I wouldn't be shocked if he turned UM around. But It's just taking a huge risk and giving up a huge opportunity here for a pay raise, and a NC (or two for that matter).
I'll just sit back and see, because in all honesty if I was coaching somewhere and even if we were a solid program with a solid future and LSU wanted me to coach even if they were a down program I would def. have to think hard about taking it or not. I wish him luck in his decision

Miles is as much a Bo Shembechler (sp?) man as he is a Michigan man. At LSU he has the chance to be that legendary coach.

I agree...the guy maybe has 7 or 8 more years of coaching...why not ride this LSU gig to a nice legacy. Bo would be proud...he's already surpassed anything Bo ever did.
