Miles Decision

I keep seeing people voice opinions that they don't want to keep CLM if it means giving into Les Miles demands for more money.
I don't think money is the issue. On the one hand, UM is his alma mater and he has strong roots to Michigan. He is a Michigan man.
On the other hand, he has the LSU program on cruise control for 10 wins/yr.
The question for him is "Do I trade a bird in the hand (LSU) for two in the bush (UM)?". I don't think he is looking for more money, but rather he is looking for security - that extension that gives him at least 5 more years at LSU.
If he doesn't think LSU is committed to keeping him for 5 more years, then he should go ahead and take the Michigan job. He runs the risk that Michigan could be a 3 year gig if he doesn't turn it around. LSU is the the more likely of the two jobs to be a "coach as long as he wants to kind of job.".

Exactly, and LSU doesn't want to give that up right now.

NOT about $$. Miles has enough money.
Give him some acknowledgement and show some appreciation.

He's a great guy, great recruiter, great ambassador and representative for the university. Class guy. But, he's been WELL-compensated by LSU for his work. His offense has sucked the past two yrs, and he's responsible for several unbelievably bad clock management debacles. It goes both ways - if he wants some more security in his contract, then he needs to acknowledge that LSU needs a new OC.

I would add that it probably has nothing to do with fans booing at games or complaining on message boards. It has everything to do with the support of the Administration.

One of the main reasons we lost Pat Henry.

We need another SEC title soon. 1/6 isn't bad with the depth in the West, but it's time for another one.
