Probably could go either way.
Think he has accomplished what he could at LSU. MI is a new challenge and been in the back of his mind for a LONG time.

LSU is NOT going to hold an opening for over a week and frick around like MI. Rick Rod was gone before that bowl and MI fricked around for days to deal with the inevitable. If it was a delay to wait and "talk" to Miles, MI is looking bad right now
MI probably wanted Harbaugh and when that fell through waited around for Les. The fact that MI waited so long is the only reason I think Les really might go...unless MI is waiting for Malzahn?

And owe him the remaining money on his contract? Nice business move.

it's simple Miles wants a raise and a contract extension. If Michigan offers him more money he is gone.

On a side note ALLeva needs to draw a line in the sand with Mi and Miles and say you have by this afternoon today to make an offer and accept or consider yourself fired.
He just needs to start publicly criticizing Michigan regarding their search at some point. We don't want to fire Miles, but we can embarrass Michigan in the process if they don't do it in a timely fashion.

You realize that all you posted Paulu was shite that's already been talked about and doesn't make you in the know more than you read this board.

If Michigan offers him more money he is gone.

Why is it looking like Pelini? Why do the "inner circle" guys prefer him?

Paulu - I would ignore most of these schmucks. You could have posted anything and within 5 posts someone would have started some fight or been bickering about something. Post what you know, even if it's unpopular, or even if it's hearsay. It's what this board is about....and being a prick when people try to post something they know.

LSU calls malzahn tuesday morning
WHAT THE HELL FOR?...nothing says he can be a HEAD COACH....one season DOES NOT MAKE YOU A GUARNTEED SUCCESS....dumbass...

Because it's damn hard to pry a coach from another comparable program -- does anyone really think Saban would leave Alabama where he's a god and gets paid almost 6M a year? Patterson is well paid at TCU and loves it there. Mullen just got a raise and an extension; would be hated if he left Moo St. for LSU. Pelini on the other hand has had issues w/ Nebraska and likely would make the move.
Now, the fact he's had "issues" w/ Nebraska, is, quite frankly, a legitimate reason to question him. But keep the discussion based on facts and legit questions -- his temperament is a legit consideration -- and not false ones -- he can't recruit. And keep in mind LSU is hiring a football coach, not a ballroom dancing instructor -- rough edges and gruffness are not unusual in a good football coach.

I am pretty sure he has been an excellent OC for awhile.

Good question and have no answer.
Just the name they all keep talking about. Prior LSU relationship, current head coach at a major college with a winning record, runs a tight program and to say he is driven to win is an understatement.
Recruiting - people here criticize but NE has a higher average star rating on Scout than LSU but Not the instate talent.
Bottom line is that NOBODY is a guarantee. THe closest guarantee is Saban and that name has not come up. He was in with the 2007 MI situation and in if Miles lost another game in 2006 after the FL game.
Guys - we are playing this game LATE in the recruiting season and in the middle of a great class. We are not dealing with the best scenario here. People want to dog FL and Miami for their hires and they actually had some time to deal with the transition.

I was saying the same thing but am starting to be of the opinion that he would listen. Not sure if would take it but he would definitely listen.

Thanks and it is usually the people that never offer anything but attacks on others - hope they are not Homeland security or a TSA employee with a complex.

Dont need Pelini if Miles goes. Like others have said Mullen, Patterson or Petersen, Make them all say no before you even think of someone like Pelini. The guy just want be a good fit here at LSU.

THe closest guarantee is Saban
