Wouldn't mind this hire at all personally but I think Cumbie would be a better one, IMO. Both would be great though. I like Cumbie because his scheme has a lot of power run in it similar to what Urban Meyer ran at Florida. He clearly understands trench domination is important with the balanced offense when you spread them out. That's the only way spread schemes work in the SEC. TAMU under Sumlin was never successful because they never dominated the trenches against more athletic teams like LSU. They always looked good beating up against lowly opponents until they hit the meat of the SEC and started to fall to pieces against athletic defenses like LSU. Can't run a spread against teams with the athleticism LSU has unless you make them constantly worry about the run.


I don't know tons about Yurcich but it does seem he likes to run it quite a bit in his scheme too. I think both would make great coordinators here.
