He just has a consistently good offense and has Oklahoma fricking State consistently in or around the Top 10; and has done worlds better than his predecessor, who we just fired. Meh.
Go compare the 4 seasons Les was there and the first 4 Gundy was there and you will see you are very wrong. Sure after 12 years he has done more, but consistently in the top 10, wrong. He has finished ranked in 7 seasons if you include this year and only 2 of those were top 10.
ETA: if you go by AP poll, only 1 was top 10.

Is this a serious question?

Gundy's Resume Highlights:
1 Big 12 Championship (2011)
Big 12 Coach of the Year (2010)
Paul "Bear" Bryant Award (2011)
Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year (2011)
Overall 103–50; 53 games over .500
Ed O's Resume Highlights:
National Recruiter of the Year (2004)
Overall 20-29; 9 games below .500
Interim Coach of the Year (2013)
Interim Coach of the Year (2015)
Yes, I made the last two up.
One was the head guy for 12 years at his Alma Mater, a football program that wins just above half its games.
They other was the head guy years ago and a tremendous failure at Ole Miss, a traditionally similar, but better, program than Oklahoma State.
Totally the same amount of gamble between these two. Wow.

I don't understand this concern when the guy has shown that he can put a top 10-15 team on the field consistently at a school with far less talent to draw from in his home base than many other power 5 schools.
Of course I've always been one who is more interested in what my team looks like on Saturdays rather than how good they look getting off the bus.
I'd take Gundy here in a heartbeat and you can have your recruiters who can't outcoach most decent high school coaches
The surest way to destroy a program is a major drop in recruiting. Gundy is a good coach but he doesn't exactly jump off the page as a great recruiter especially given his on field success. To compete in the SEC, you need to be able to recruit at an elite level. Maybe he can do it, but it is a legitimate question mark.

this all day long... You cant recruit at OKie St the way you can at LSU, you just cant.. Ok St doesnt have the history, aura, money, status, or is in the top conference that LSU is in... I for one believe it was LSU who was the recruiter, not miles.. You put an offensive guru like Gundy in a place like that with Aranda, then you have a legit juggernaut every year..
