Alot of proper nouns going on in this thread.

Guess Porter is sticking around.

Really? I can't imagine that Memphis's OC would be make more than LSU's associate head coach.

Wouldn't count on Porter being here next year.

If he's not the head man at Memphis, why not?

The only reason he leaves LSU to be an offensive coordinator at memphis would be if he sees lsu as a sinking ship. The pay is probably the same, and he could more HC job opportunities as long as he is here. IMO

Not really....Your most likely not jumping from RB coach to HC....You need some coordinator experience, which he will never get here.....If he wants to one day be a HC he needs to get some OC experience.

The guy from the Redskins also has ties to Memphis, also his son is a QB there if I recall.

if he ever wants to be more than a RB coach, he's gunna have to leave LSU to do it

memphis is a very low profile job and i wouldn't take OC. he now has his name out there and gaining momentum, I would try to build on my recruiter status at LSU and look for a better offer at OC. bama hired applewhite as OC with only 1 year OC exp., Ark hired malzhan as OC right out of high school. IF THE MONEY ISN'T BETTER THEN THE JOB ISN'T BETTER.

yeah, because that's nabbed Rodney Garner and Trooper Taylor coordinator gigs. going to Memphis and calling plays would be Porter's best bet.

LSU is a winning program. I would stick with that. memphis is a loser for the immediate future. everyone wants to pick from a winner not a loser. the hot HC names come from winners ie. kelly, harbaugh etc. the hot OC will come from winners also.

He needs to prove he can run and build an offense. Can you imagine what his stock will be if he goes somewhere and succeeds as a play caller? He'll be covered up with offers given his recruiting ability.

A job like he has now as position coach and Recruiting coordinator will always be there.

kelly was coaching at a 1-AA school before he was OC at UO

Harbaugh had to take the San Diego HC job to get street cred

and guess what!?1?!!??! from these shitty jobs, they moved onto BCS jobs (kelly as OC of UO and Harbaugh at HC of Stanford)
