Word out from Knoxville is that the UT Board of Trustees is negotiating a deal to bring in David Cutcliffe as HC and Philip Fulmer as the new AD. All the while it seems that AD Hamilton is texting madly that its not true, no coach has been signed.

Crazy stuff.

Hamilton might as well just hang it up and pack his bags. He should of fought this hard to get a good coach in the first place.

If Hamilton gets fired today, it is a day too late. Dude has been hanging on to that Bruce Pearl hire for too long. The athletic program is becoming a joke.

Vol fan meltdown on Vol Nation (their big sports forum) REALLY don't want Cutcliffe, pretty unilaterally across the board.

They don't think Cutcliffe's good enough...

...think he can't recruit well enough or has enough energy, or is healthy enough.

They're right. They should be hammering out contract details with Rich Rodriguez as I type.
