Haven't read this thread but I always thought McElwain did a good job at BAMA. He knew what the offenses identity was going to be and they compliment the defense well. Always fundamentally sound, also.

People just like to bitch. I guess they want every play to go for a score.
I personally think he's done a fantastic job the entire time he's been here.

Jesus Harold Christ...there are some real 'tards in the Bama fanbase.

It's been said...McElwain will be a great loss for the Tide. He deserves better than Memphis though.

I always thought McElwain was solid.

The two things that I think McElwain has done poorly at Alabama is WR routes and RB pass routes.
There are far too many routes and passes outside the numbers. Very rarely does Bama attack over the middle.
Bama's RBs catch the ball with their backs to the defense far more than heading up field.
Both areas of weakness, IMO, require the defense to be out of position, as opposed to having pass routes that may be higher risk, but yield bigger results and let your playmakers make plays.
As a whole, I have no problem with McElwain, and Im not entirely convinced that we are seeing his offense, but Bama could certainly be more aggressive if anything.

All in all, McElwain has been fairly solid.

He can do MUCH better than Memphis. It's a shame FedEx will give money to a BCS conference to take Memphis but won't try to improve the product first.
