100% agree - Orgeron screwed up big time

When Ed O hired Canada, he did it only cause that's who Alleva sent him to go hire after Ed O's guy, Lane Kiffin, accepted the FAU job. Canada was never who Ed O wanted to hire and that is why it didn't work.

Ed O wanted a spread offense but Canada was not a spread offense OC. When Ed O figured that out, he instantly regretted it and wanted to fire him. Which he eventually did.

He needed a "name" to back up that promise and Canada was that guy at the time.

After Lane Kiffin fell through, Joe Alleva found Canada and sent Ed O to go hire him. However, he wasn't a spread offense OC, which is what Ed O wanted. So Ed O fired him and replaced him with Steve Ensminger, with the understanding that LSU must transform the offense to a spread offense. Ensminger started the transformation last season and then greatly accelerated it with the hiring of Joe Brady.

amazing how fortunes change among assistant coaches. One minute you're hot, the next your yesterday's garbage.

And people wonder why they have buyouts in their contracts

Canada may have his personal issues, but he's been a decent OC in his career. It just so happened he came into a situation with an insecure HC demanding BIG results immediately. That personality clash was just waiting to erupt and it did very quickly. Now O is finally comfortable in his spot at LSU and it is showing both on the field and on the recruiting circuit

I can't argue with any of this. It was very much a pivotal point in the LSU/O marriage. I was very worried at the time about overly meddling Ole Miss Orgeron starting to rear his ugly head, but I'll admit I was wrong.

After all, after the Moo State game, it was crystal clear he wasn't getting the job done. So Ed O tore him a new a-hole subsequently. If that constitutes "meddling" then let me applaud Ed O for meddling.

Crystal clear in the third game of the season? The players admitted they were running plays from 2016 in the first half of the Troy game, which was a completely different offense than their new OC ran.

No matter how you spin the blame toward Les or Canada, that debacle was a bad look for Orgeron.

How could they run plays from 2016 without practicing those plays? That's one of the most ridiculous things I ever heard. As Steve Ensminger wasn't the OC anymore and I highly doubt Canada new that same offense. Apparently, you were so filled with hate at the time for Ed O, that you would believe almost anything derogatory no matter how farfetched it was.

Again, Canada was hired at the direction of Alleva. He didn't run a spread offense, which is the kind of offense Ed O wanted to run.

Furthermore, Canada berated the players, which Ed O didn't want him to do cause Ed O is a player's coach and Canada furthermore, also didn't get along with any of the other assistant coaches as well.

Hence, since Canada didn't run the kind of offense Ed O wanted to run and also because of the aforementioned, Ed O got rid of him and promoted Steve Ensminger to OC.

Steve Ensminger started the transformation of the offense to a spread offense last season and completed the transformation this season.

Meanwhile, you Ed O haters never stopped lobbying to get Ed O fired until midway through this season when it became apparent that LSU would likely go undefeated and win the SEC with a shot at winning a Natty, and in which all you Ed O haters said would never ever happen as long as Ed O was the head coach.

You just made all of that up.

The only truth is. Ed fricked up the hire. But he made it right.
