I didn't do the first one and won't do this one. But, damnit, I love that matchup.

SFP, if Raymond ends up being the fourth defensive coach, I'm going to call them "The Soul Patrol - Coaching Version" in an homage to the great LSU defenses of the late 70s.

It would require O being accepted as an Honorary Member, but I'm sure he won't mind. He did attend one practice with the original Soul Patrol in 1977.

I like this but I have a question

Getting 3 highly qualified coaches like these may mean we have them for 3 yrs or so, then they're off to bigger and better things (like HC somewhere). I'd like to get guys that really don't have a future as HC's (if that makes any sense) so that we can have them for a long time (like Chavis at UT). Do ya'll see LSU as a stepping stone to their ultimate goal of being HC somewhere or do you think O will never be more than a D-line coach (I know he was HC at Ole Miss, but wasn't successful) or Walker will never be more than a DC or WIllis will never be more than a LB coach?

Sorry if this doesn't make any sense.

bwall,

I want the guys looking to move up. It means they have to bust their arse to prove themselves. Looking for a new DC is just part of the game. Foster and Chavis are rarities. Even foster is starting to look at HC gigs.

if they're not promotion-worthy, then they're likely lacking in at least 1 major area required to move up

i don't know why people want coaches here for 10 years. unless it's due to drama, coaches leave to move up. that means they did a good job while at LSU. and we can always hire new, qualified guys ready to help out and move up

the ability to "move up" from LSU is a selling point that will allow our program to hire the best of the best every hiring season

Can we each do our "march" on a treadmill or with a Nike+Ipod (upload the march data)? I'll only participate if I don't actually have to be near any of the other posters!

Sure, but you must yell "LSU" at the top of your lungs.
