Major Applewhite now considered the probable frontrunner for UT OC

I'm not surprised one bit that he would be the next OC. To me it was only logical that he was in line to eventually take over. He had one great season at Rice as the OC and the one year at Alabama they did just fine on offense and he has been the assistant HC at Texas ever since. I figured when he went there a few years back that he would eventually take over.

Disagree completely.

Here's his resume:
2005 - QB coach at Syracuse....went 1-10 and scored the fewest points in 20 years
2006 - Rice OC - Ranked #58 in total offense
2007 - Bama OC - Ranked #75 in total offense, which is an improvement over 2006 in ypg, but not by ranking (#65). Still not very good.
2008-2010 - Texas RB coach & AHC

During his tenure at Texas, he's what he has accomplished as RB coach:
2007: #17 Rush Offense (before he got there)
2008: #41
2009: #61
2010: #66

To me, looks like a mirror-image of Crowton...

What....thought Malzhan was a lock @ 2.5 million a year to the horns

I have no doubt he is the eventual OC. I just figured they would have one big name hire the act as OC for a year or so so he can get some more experience.

He is considered our best recruiting after Boom, so this does not really surprise me.

They also scored 350 points that season which is the 3rd highest total in school history. 254 1st Downs which is 4th in school history. Had 4,486 which is 4th best in school history. Threw for 2,783 which is 4th best in school history. 29 TD passes 2nd best in school history. And most importantly Rice won 7 games that year and went to a bowl game. I would say that's a pretty damn good improvement for a team that went 1-10 the year before.

No doubt Bama's offense didn't set the world on fire in 2006 but they were good enough to keep them in most games and in 3 different games had the offense not had great days they would have lost, Bama's defense wasn't very good in 2006.

You're judging rushing stats on him for a team that never runs the ball and has had a QB his entire time there that throws it almost every play or runs it if there is no one to throw to??
