I agree with everything you said except Saban sending the message to Mack.
I think that Saban just put himself in the clear and secured at least $7 million a year.
Now, he can make the decision that HE wants to make without worrying about what others do with the playing field cleared.
As always, Saban is in control. Completely.

I am tonight because I think I see what is going on - or what could be going on.
By tomorrow, I'll be doing other things. Mack Brown resigning is a major story. I think I see the angle, though, and I think Saban is still in play.
Of course, I could be completely wrong. We'll see.
