Who cares if the contract is signed. Saban still has no buyout. I think he stays at bama, but if brown steps down at texas this thing could get interesting again.

Let me say this too Doc was right about the financial stuff. If Sabin stays I have no clue how Alabama pull the shite all the more power to them. My last hopes are with the Fluker investigation.

Brown had previously confided in those close to him that he was resigning, the source said. However, Brown was "enraged" when the news leaked to the media, and he decided to change course, according to the source. --ESPN

It certainly looks like Saban was waiting for the Texas job to come open and most likely going to leave Bama.

But no way does he sign extension if he thinks he is heading to Texas this offseason.

Now next year may be different.

They seriously Crimson Wedding'd this whole thing. All week, Texas boosters were crowing like roosters about how they were the biggest baddest program, and that Saban to Texas was a "done deal". Bama just sat quietly and waited until Texas' big night, their AWARDS PRESENTATION, and que the music.

Holy shite. Massive respect to Alabama. Ice cold.

The lyrics to that song are hauntingly similar to the situation here. So awesome.

So basically he met with Patterson and Powers and said frick yall. Goes to the banquet and before they all walk in, they call Saban and say sorry bro. Saban goes back to his desk and signs the papers.

No, the only thing he was right about is that there was money movement of some kind. All possibilities are that Saban refinanced or paid it off himself with the money he has made on other deals that HASNT gone south. Or any number of OTHER plausible possibilities. Yall just wanted to believe so hard that the slightest coincidences all lined up in your heads. Dont feel bad, we did the same for the first part of ATPB before it became painfully obvious that nothing was going to happen
