I ran into Phil Savage at a bar in Mobile tonight.
Callahan's.
I asked him about the Senor Bowl instead of the Saban situation.
he laughed pretty hard.
he bought me a beer and we talked about the Senior Bowl.
then I took a nice subtle jab at Saban and Alabama and how he might leave and the smile ran away from his face quickly.
sing us a you're the piano man, sing us a song tonight.

Loose Cannon. Phil is the man. Love Callahans but feel like I would be mugged and killed getting out of that neighborhood. (LOL) Does he think he is gone? Saban has always been real good friend to Senior bowl. He was somewhat cryptic on radio today but did admit Saban may be leaving for the first time today.

Way too much smoke on this one. Saban has to be gone. The only question is how Sexton is going to get a cut of the 25 or 40 million in debt being paid off.
What is that a 3-5 million fee for him? UT you guys got an extra King Air or Citation laying around you can throw in the deal for Jimmy?

well, his guess was as good as any of the ones I've read on this board.
thing is... Saban played a different deck this year.
I mean how many times has he embraced his QB at Alabama after a regular season win?
and for the love of GOD... he looked so crestfallen after the loss to Auburn. It truly looked like the end.
I mean most other times, he would have sprinted to midfield with a business look on his face and shook hands.
I know he got high schooled by Gus but I think there was a lot more towards his somber tone following that loss.
