LSU changed CFB landscape in 1999 and will do so again

We sought out Saban, doubled his salary and paid him amongst the elite despite him not having elite success at the time. High salaries became the norm and many failed to achieve great success, but the blueprint remains.
Now, we are going to change the landscape by placing a premium on coordinators. We are paying the head coach less and will likely end up with the two highest paid coordinators.

Lol. WHat? Meanwhile star coaches like Saban, Meyer, Harbaugh, and Fisher will continue to win titles.

It certainly seems like a system that could work. The only thing is, top coordinators typically leave for head coaching jobs so we'd be constantly trying to replace them.
If there were ever a head coach for this type of scenario, it is O. However, I am cautiously optimistic.

I wouldn't include Fisher in that discussion with the "elite coaches." His record doesn't reflect an "elite" status.
