Bottom line is he hasnt had a raise in 5 years, his asst coaches have. I know he make big bucks but how many people would go 5 years without a raise and not look around for something? Especially in the last 3 years with the program going in the right direction. 34-5..

Miles is a great human, a good man, a great recruiter and an average at best gameday coach....

tell me why I'm wrong on any of this?

I don't know you, but I would guess that you're wrong on a lot of things because you aren't very bright. To be fair, I've developed this opinion of you based on one post only, so I could be wrong, but I sincerely doubt it.

First of all, Les Miles is one of the top 10 coaches in the country. That's really not even debatable. It would be EXTREMELY difficult for anyone to do better than him, including LSU. Finding a great coach requires a lot of things falling into place. That's why so many teams make mistakes.

Second of all, you have absolutely no clue what Miles is doing or why. Assuming the worst about people is a terrible way to go through life.

Third, Miles is a professional coach. That's what he does for a living. He probably loves it, and he probably loves LSU, but he isn't busting his arse every day of the year out of the kindness of his heart. If he can get more money somewhere else, what's wrong with exploring his options? I love my job and the company I work for, but if someone came along and offered me a great deal more money, I'd be stupid not to listen. If he is underpaid at LSU compared to the marketplace for his services, then LSU should either give him a raise or let him go. I, for one, believe he's worth it to LSU.

He hasn't had a raise in 5 years - once the new wave of hirings get done around the league, if nothing changes, he will be the 9th or 10th highest paid HC.

If that's what you're advocating for a guy who is a little over 1 season away from coaching 100 wins for us, go right ahead and roll the dice in this market.

You keep saying this. I appreciate that Fayetteville is a wonderful place. But when you are a top-tier college football coach -- LSU trumps "destination Arkansas" every single time.

But keep on saying "Arkansas is a destination job"... eventually you'll find someone to agree with you that even Nick Saban would cream his pants to walk into that Arkansas dream job.

BuckToothBilly. Out.

Quality post. I doubt ANYONE posting in this thread would turn away a 45% raise over their current annual salary without even listening to it.

I agree, although I think that it's certainly debatable. I do NOT think it's debatable that he's top ten.

My point is that, even though I believe he is a top five coach in the country, people could have a legitimate argument for 5 other coaches to be better than him. However, it would be nearly impossible to list 10 coaches in the country better than him and have a legitimate argument.

All of this has to be a joke. LesMiles is not leaving LSU for Arkansas and you don't run off yearly 10 win coaches with two NC appearances and a victory over a six yr span

I've been asking for a week and no one has come up with a list or named names.

They just don't want Miles and anyone else will be fine and LSU will just continue it's ways because "LSU sells itself."
