Though Jones has done a great job with the defense once Ed got out of the way.

It took Lane kiffin telling Ed O they were predictable. Jones didn't figure that out on his own.

I have a different take, it took Lane telling him that for him to agree to let Daronte run 3 man Fronts. O has never liked running a 3-4.

Can I just get at least a rumor of who we’re looking at for OC/DC? I’m going through withdrawals over here

CBK can be CEO but has expertise/mastery on offensive side and coach this side’s coaches on what he wants.

A lot of people don’t realize he also used to be a defensive coach.

We still only ran 3-man fronts situationally.

What Daronte brings to the table is a truly Multiple defense that not only adapts to the offense's personnel but the unique parts of that specific opponent/play/quarter/etc. The main thing is that he uses the front 7 to ultimately be high pressure on the QB and interchanges fronts to put the offense off-balance. And that aggressive playcalling for the front 7 allows our athletic DBs better man coverage especially if they're on an island.

So, Daronte's not really thinking "4-3 vs 3-4". He's thinking, "Here are the players we have and here is the scheme that will best utilize them." That's where great defenses have been moving in the past couple of years.
