I honestly would think the discussions aren't so much about money (salary). I'm an admitted posi-tiger and posi-Miles. But I agree he doesn't deserve a "raise".

I think the negotiations are probably more about extension, and maybe bonuses for achievements. Miles is 57. If he doesn't go to UM, he'll wanna retire here. He may ask for a 5 year extension or something. After all, he was on the friggin 'hot seat' while sitting at 7-0. Probably wants a vote of confidence from the AD, and IMO, he deserves that.

If Miles says anything about more money they should let him go in a second. I want him to stay, but he isn't worth the money to keep him.

How exactly would MIles getting more money harm you personally?

Where else can you go 11-2 and continue to get blasted the way he does.......just saying Michigan would love to go 11-2 on a regular basis. Even if you sprinkle in a bad season here and there, they would take Miles' record over the time he has spent at LSU.

With that said, I have several friends in Michigan and the talk among most fans there is Brady Hoke. Talk among fans means nothing when it comes to hiring coaches- just saying that is what they want.

Pretty sure I didn't say it would. Let's just go ahead and give the Chief 2mil a year. That won't harm me personally so let's do it.

Weems isn't on the board anymore, right? Not just president, but not even a member? I doubt he has much say in the coaching decisions these days.

Charlie recruited Les and they are friends. Charlie is on the sidelines at every game. I don't doubt that Les would be talking to him, right now.

However, I doubt Charlie expected that email to be posted on the Rant, knowing Charlie.

Sorry if I offended. I read a lot of complaining on this board about Miles's salary, yet nobody has proven to me yet that they are personally harmed by it. It's like over on the poli board. There are people constantly moaning and crying about what corporate executives make. Most work unbelievably long hours and have huge levels of stress. Sort of like that of a major college football coach.

because if LM gets and extension with more money, it makes it more difficult to cut him loose if he continues with some bone headed decisions like he's made over the last 3 years. Let's face it, this 11-2 season could easily have been a 8-5.

I agree with you 100%. Someones worth is what someone else is willing to pay him. I just dont think we should be willing to pay him more right now. If he wins us another championship then LSU should talk.

And you could say that about any team's season any year. Come on man. Auburn could have easily lost a few games too. Everything in life is full of "could haves". You know full well that sort of thing is juvenile.
