I think the location argument is more about the amount of schools competing for all of that talent. You basically have Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Florida State, Florida, Clemson, South Carolina, and Georgia Tech all close enough to offer scholarships to the same kids. These are just the big schools and don't include the North Carolina schools or the Virginia schools.

Kirk's son, Brian will take over when he retires... not saying I am happy about it as an Iowa fan. It has been in the works for awhile... mark it down.

In his last 7 years I believe he fielded one team who didn't win 10 or more games

Wanting a coach that will not design fullback twirl-action dive runs up the middle is not asking a lot.
We want competent offense. We are not getting that. We are lucky to score 2 the per game.

Stoops fielded some shitty Oklahoma teams at the end of his run. What makes you think he's going to do any better at Auburn if he lands there?
Hew wouldnt. And some of the very same clown Auburn fans that are so excited about him now were the ones dragging his arse through the mud when he was at OU. "Big Game Bob". BS
Auburn fans are just easy. A lot of these guys believe anything they read no matter where it comes from. Gus is going no where. What would make them think Auburn would pay off a 40 million dollar contract because a coach has a 10 win season then what possible could be a 8 win season. Its not like we didnt win a game and that is what it would take to pay out a 40 mil buyout.
Everybody is disappointed but fortunately, there are some better business minds making the decisions. Gus needs to get his shite together but he is going no where and the only thing all this BS from fans and media is doing is hurting recruiting

Better business minds? The longer Gus is there, the bigger the hole is that they have to fill. It's best to can him now and get a jump on things. All the $32 mil isn't owed up front anyways I believe. And if you think the money isn't there, you're wrong.

Its not about having the money brother. Its a matter of "Is it the right investment"
Look, the contract was bad. I agree but at the time, they made the decision they thought was right. They are not going to bail out of it in its first year because we lost two games that we really should not have lost

Bob Stoops is not coming out of retirement to coach at stupid arse Auburn.

His inability to coach is the main thing hurting recruiting. Who wants to come throw away a shot at the NFL to play for this clown?
Posted on 11/27/18 at 6:51 am to LanierSpots
You really don't get that it's about more than losing two games he shouldn't have, do you?

I absolutley do but if we won those two games, this conversation would not be happening. Auburn would be playing in a bowl game for a second 10 win season in a row which hasnt happened.
Its always about winning or losing in the end

Hasnt hurt his recruiting for the most part up to now. If you think Auburn is going to recruit at a level of Alabama or Ohio State or even UGA at this point, you are just dreaming and do not know the history of the program. Its pipe dreams
We are missing some key pieces and those are recruiting loses but we are actually recruiting right now above our historic average
My honest opinion is, if Gus would have never changed his offense, we would not be having these conversations. It was his biggest mistake and I honestly do not think at this point eh can recover from it. I think he coaches next year and that may be his last at Auburn
Posted on 11/27/18 at 7:00 am to LanierSpots
That's a dumb hypothetical. Fact is he lost those games bc he's a shite coach.
Posted on 11/27/18 at 7:06 am to LanierSpots
If everyone knows next year is his last, then why keep him? It's stupid. We'll lose more money by not firing him now, especially if next season is a repeat of 2012.
That said, I will gain respect for the PTB if they are going after Stoops. Go big or go home. CFB is a cut throat business and you do what you have to do to win. AU never has and I hope they are starting.

Some of us want to get ahead of the upcoming 4-8 season coming up next year. We are probably going winless in conference next year with our market rate moron.

See the state of our OL and rb depth you still believe those bullshite recruiting ranking? Those two things show that we are not recruiting "above average."
