I had forgotten UT was looking for an AD. They’ve had an interim in place for over 2 years.

I know Del Conte is well respected and has transformed TCU facilities & fundraising. He inherited their two best coaches (Patterson & Schlossnagle).

Is he the one who hired Jaime Dixon?

this seems to be a damn good hire. their interim was not so hot. ex player turned trial lawyer. if tejas really wants a successful football team I think this man can get it done. and that doesn't mean with herman. it means herman better start performing.

Probably a good hire.
Likely dodged a bullet. Mack was rumored to be trying to make a power play for the ad position.
Should work out bringing in someone from outside the 40 acres power circles.

I know Nebraska considered him as well... top-notch AD who did an excellent job at TCU.

He might very well be the best athletic director in the country. He’s phenomenal.

Texas just upped their game, IMHO. He's the best AD in the country.

A part of me is stunned that Texas actually made a competent, outside of the box decision.
