He has done a lot with a little...Iowa State is a tuff school to recruit for...unless you like cornfields, snow, and no life. lways been that way....so in some respects gotta give him a lot of credit but most of the hype comes from just a few wins...upsets for the most part.

Whether he has the the makings of a top 5-10 college coach at this juncture...probably not but he's very likely headed for his next spot.

After listening to Mel Tucker after the game last night, and James Franklin's interview after practice this week, combined with Franklin hiring Sexton this week... my guess is you have a better shot at Franklin than Tucker.

Looked at PJ Fleck's wiki and i was impressed. What i saw was that he took 2 programs and built them up. I would think that the ability to do that would be very important in long term sustainability. The fact that he has won conference coach of the year in two conferences and broke school records for w-l and team rankings by a coach at two different schools is pretty impressive. I definitely like and would not be surprised if Woodward hires him.

Franklin isn’t leaving Penn State. He was born outside of Philadelphia and went to college in Pa. He’s at his dream job now.

He may not have a choice. I don't think he'll be fired but the fans mostly want him gone and really never embraced him to begin with.

Add Gary P. to the list. Cheap and lazy hire.

Luke Fickell (HC at Cincinnati)

With Cincy going to a P5 conference he may stick around.

Kendall Briles (OC at Arkansas)

A lot of his dad's baggage also fell on him. Maybe Texas Tech takes a chance and they aren't that sold.

Matt Campbell (HC at Iowa State)

His window may be closing, his best chance was a couple of years ago.

Brian Kelly (HC at Notre Dame)

Outside of the Cincy loss (and Cincy is a very good team this year) Notre Dame hasn't lost. Plus they still are a national draw. So unless he wants to go pro, he's not leaving.

Hugh Freeze (HC at Liberty)

His "holier-than-thou" schtick works perfect where he is. It doesn't sit well anywhere else, not even if the Baylor job opened up.

Lincoln Riley is the next coach at LSU. You can all go home now. We can reconvene after the announcement is made. Youre welcome.

We'll see who has the better Sauces.
Riley-won't talk till after season. Woody won't wait.
Aranda-No chance. Likes Baylor, Wife Dione and the girls didn't like BR plus he's a cali man so USC before LSU.
Fickel- Doesn't fit the criteria of must have southern ties.
Napier- Not the Home run hire woody wants right now.

Jimbo is in the top 3 for sure and wants to be here. I have sauces but they know just as much as everyone on here. Woody is saying nothing but he wants a coach with southern ties.

I actually think he'd do a great job there, and would prefer he not take the job.

How do you not have Vance Joseph on this list ? Absolutely mind boggling.

Tom Herman, lol

What we should do is interview him, and then when the time to decide finally comes about our next head coach, leak to the press it's gonna be Herman at $9 million a year for 5 years guaranteed and then obviously proceed to hire someone else.
