It is like Saban asking someone to be DC - CUM controls the Offense, Our guy is a CEO coach like Leslie was.

Yep... & that guy who calls the plays for the Saints. Paun Sayton!!! It's amazing that a Louisana based message board with a majority Louisiana posters can't put this together!

Wasn't Linehan Saban's OC with the Dolphins as well?

Yes he was, except he was on his way up the coaching ladder 15 years ago.

Urban said:

"I’m not going to be running around like a nut on the practice field. Those days are gone.”

So he'll let Linehan do all the work.

Meyer's strength is recruiting, not coaching. Hiring Linehan is just an example of his lack of knowledge and he is simply going with hiring a coaching retread. No chance with him as OC. Didn't work for Dallas and will not work for Jacksonville. He'll be gone in no more than 2 years. Some coaches are just lucky to have a job at all...he's one of them. He will probably be on Miles staff somewhere in a couple of years.

Any coaches who were at Dallas would not do well! Dallas will never be successful with Jerry as the owner. Been going downhill ever since last Super bowl win.

And look how he turned out. That dude literally lost his damn mind during that interim season at Arkansas.

His brother died during that season (IIRC it was the week of the SMILE presser) and he was also dealing with a pretty serious bankruptcy due to some land deals going bad.

Yup. Say what you want but CUM, as much as I hate the guy, obviously knows infinitely more than any poster on TD. If he hires him laugh all you want but there's a reason and it's not because he sucks. He just sucks here. Some guys and situations just don't fit and LSU is a unique place.

You nailed it!

Hold it! Saban is the defensive coach. So no way he would be have any control with the offense. Then You have Urban Meyers is the offensive coach. So he knows offense and will be in control. Two different situation. Also Linehan also have experiences as a HC of the St. Louis rams and as OC at Detroit and Dallas. He will be helping Urban Meyers about the NFL.
