Once they’re in the SEC, he will no longer make the playoffs with OU. He has to know this. They have none of the defensive recruiting advantages that LSU has.

He’d be competing against Alabama, LSU, UGA, etc in the same states for defensive players, something any SEC school must have to compete in the conference. Florida will be back in recruiting soon too.

I’m glad I’ve been out of pocket most of the day, I come back here and you goofballs are losing your minds over every little tweet or post.

Take a deep breath and just fricking chill.

This is why it's not unreasonable to believe he is coming here, it's going to be Riley

No kidding. He's opened up pandora's box. Dude will never get another dime out of OU.

So on the one hand you all think Lincoln is the next Saban slayer. On the other hand, if we don't get him he will be losing 3-4 a year at OU once they join the SEC.

That's Jimbo territory and you guys say he's a bum. This information is difficult to reconcile.

I like this argument. Let me address it. Recruiting certain positions is much more specific to a school than a coach. OU isn’t coming into Louisiana or Florida and getting the best DB recruits no matter who is the coach.

Even Saban isn’t getting all the best LA talent, even though he was once the LSU coach and has built those connections.

OU must improve recruiting at certain positions in order to compete in the SEC. Those positions include DBs, LBs and Defensive Linemen. Other than defensive linemen (that they could arguably find in the Midwest), where are they going to find enough elite defensive players to compete?

Sure, K9 was a great LB, but they only had one. We saw how that played out in 2019. You have to have multiple great LBs and DBs to compete in the SEC.

Exactly. At LSU he could have the horses to compete with Saban regularly. At OK he may have the ocassional A&M or Ole miss style win against Bama with most seasons being a loss.

It's true and you'll find out soon enough. Oklahoma will not be a big dog anymore when they enter the league. A Mike Leach led team is one of the lower ranked teams of this conference. Think of where he took Texas Tech and Washington St in those conferences? Tennessee finally has something going for them and Kiffin at Ole Miss or Florida is trouble. Have you seen what Stoops has done at Kentucky? Did I mention a TAMU team with even more talent coming as soon as next year? Arkansas isn't a pushover and Auburn comes out once every few years and just beats the top dogs. LSU with Aranda or whomever competent will still be stronger than anybody else in the Big 12, Do I even have to mention Bama or UGA?

The problem Oklahoma fans will soon realize is that the SEC is tough as hell. Mizzu had 2 good early seasons when the SEC was down and since then....look how long it has taken TAMU to do anything without Manziel and Kingsbury on the same team.
