You are correct. Fact is, he is responsible for winning and losing (not us. If we win big, he keeps his job. If he doesn't, he loses his job. He understands that this is the business that he is in, and chosen to be in. Hence, who he selects to his staff, the players that he signs, and the systems that he runs, is his job and he makes the final decisions. He will live or die with the outcomes.

Maybe the D line, but you’re ignoring that 6+ o linemen left over the summer after O was in charge.

Come on, man. O-line depth wasn't a factor at all this year. Those freshmen that played beat out older guys who beat out the guys you're talking about that transferred.

The ONLY offensive line transfer that hurt, and it hurt bad, was Teuhma, but by all accounts, I don't think you can blame O for that one.

Edt: in case I wasn't clear, I think QUALITY depth was an issue. We had true freshmen beating out guys who had been here for years. That shouldn't happen. None of the guys who transferred, other than Teuhma would have sniffed the field this year. You can't blame the lack of quality depth on the transfers.

I think that's what a lot of us are upset about. Nothing O has done on the recruiting trail makes me think the cupboard will be full for the next coach. We will have talent but will it be elite talent? I like our class for the most part now but it isn't what we're used to. Slowly I believe a less caliber player will start rolling into campus. Good contributors but not top end like we saw with Les and Saban.

We are going to have the worst time combating negative recruiting with some of the guys on staff. I mean Mickey Joseph can barely read from everything I've seen let alone recruit and coach which he sucks at. Jerry Sullivan will be telling recruits stories about Korea and Nam. If they did it with Pete Jenkins, teams will do it with Sullivan.

If we let the Coach O course for too long, we will be in the shitter for at least 4 years after he is fired unless a superstar AD comes here and turns shite around and hires a genius like Saban, Kirby, Riley, Herman, Jimbo, etc.
