Tennessee is the place you oughta be,

I think he gets out of the pressure cooker SEC but would love to see what he could do with the Vols.

If he goes this route, he loses his buyout payments. He has to make a good faith effort to find another coaching job.

He hired agents and no doubt their work behind the scenes would constitute "good faith" efforts. No harm in doing some TV work in the meantime. I think many of you guys are underestimating the respect Miles has nationally and I think - if he wants it - he will get another power 5 job. Resume is too good and he's too good a recruiter not to. Losing to Saban multiple times isn't a career killer especially when you factor in Miles has been one of the few coaches to beat Saban - 3 times in fact.

Edited to correct number of wins

Because Alabama.

Players in the NFL mean nothing if all of them attended prior to another team taking off like crazy. Same thing happened with Tennessee

My mistake then. I saw 5-7 somewhere but I guess two wins must have been against Bama before Saban.

he may get a courtesy interview or one to show the teams fans they are doing a search but there is no fanbase out there with Miles as their number 1

Just like vandy wouldnt have ed orgeron in their top 5.

CLM was nothing prior to LSU. He came here and was extremely successful and still isn't well respected as a coach nationally...why do you think that is?

You repeatedly posting this proven wrong shite doesnt nake it true dumbass.

Les Miles took over a program 1 winning season in the 14 years prior to his hire. He then had 2 straight winning seasons and had them winning 9 games.
He had Oklahoma state getting multiple top 25 classes when before his hire they were getting classes in the 80's and 90's.

Just because youre ignorant to milesx history doesnt mean it was nothing. Educate yourself.

Les miles won more games at Oklahoma state than saban did at msu.

So if Miles was nothing before lsu,so was saban.

I wont even respond to this ignorance. My god.

He had everything he needed at LSU, and failed.

His last 5 years at lsu= 3 top 15 finishes,4 10 win seasons (yes im counting mcneese)

Saban's tenure at lsu= 2 top 15 finishes 2 10 win seasons

It was time to go but lets not act like we have been some shite program the last 5 years. We are 2nd in the sec in wins and 2nd in sec wins. Outside of bama lsu has been the most consistent program in the sec.

Once again your refusal to actually look shite up is your down fall.

Our last 2 draft classes have not been special. 7 different sec program have had more or equal to the ammount of drfated players the last 2 years.

Bama's 2016 draft class alone was almost as big as our last 2 draft classes combined.
But hey dont let facts get in the way of you posting ignorant shite. You never do.

The OP said "see how that goes", which implies that it might be the start of a new career in broadcasting. That doesn't meet the intent of a "good faith effort" to find a new coaching job.

Feel free to put words into your own mouth, but stay away from mine. I didn't say anything at all to imply that.

Who gives a damn. Its pretty telling that he is only mentioned in lower tier power 5 programs job openings isn't it? LSU made a good decision letting him go, I just think it was about 6 months too late.

I'm not too sure Miles is in a big hurry to land another job. Despite all the bitching, he had a hell of a career at LSU (a national title, of which we only have 3 in our history; and the highest winning percentage). He's nearing 65, his kids are in college now, he was making good money for awhile, and now he has his big buyout. He doesn't seem as driven as Saban, he seems pretty relaxed and satisfied with life.
I think he's going to chill awhile and enjoy himself.
