quote:That is evidence of him not hiring a DC yet, not that you are thinking. I don't have data to back this up, but my impression is that the majority of coaching hires (excluding head coaches) occur post bowl games, and the majority of these are not announced until post signing day. So why do you conclude that he is not going to hire a coach?
The evidence is him not hiring a DC until this point.

Did he watch Alabama play Florida play in the SECCG game? That is defense right there. They held Florida offense to less that 5 touchdowns.
Jesus Christ! Now Saban is a damn genius because he held UF to under 5 tds IN A frickING LOSS?? Why don't you put a Nick Saban fathead behind your toilet so you'll at least have something to fantasize about.

Dude, no body is fantasizing here. All I am saying is ,
when you win win like a TRUE KING and when you lose lose like a WARRIOR
What have we done? barring alabama game, all our losses were like

How the heck he can feel that the defense played well anytime this year (except may be discounting the 2nd half of South Carolina game)
The defense played well, at times, against Bama, and during the comeback against Troy. But the fact that we are struggling to find other examples supports your overall point.

Here's a typical LSU fan. The defense didn't show up for 3 quarters and gave 400+ yards and 31 pts to Troy and this guys lists it as a positive.

It's obvious on defense that we don't have much to be proud of, so we have to break it up into halves and quarters that we played well.
By the way, BamaMike
Oh, and Les has been contacting D coordinators. Have your fun now, but you know that Bama will not have a cakewalk with LSU anytime soon. You win one out of 6 against us and now you're the fricking kings of the SEC west.

quote:I asked this question and got no answer. I'll expand the question to everybody here. Does anybody know beyond TD rumors and Miles' vague comments about correcting things and media speculation - is there anything official that has come out of the Athletic Dept or the Coach's office that says that LSU is really looking for a DC?
What "reports" do you see that are officially coming from LSU?

Another 7-5 or 8-4 season and Miles needs to be shown the door. Hes starting to remind me of Ron Zook.

and after that game Les sounded like we played a great game. Does he ever realize that we have coaching issues

If Malleveto perform well and come up with a win and stop GT's triple option, he might stick with them for another yer and see how it goes.
For the love of God, Coach your arse off Malleveto Monster!

Did I say the defense played well the entire game against Troy? No. What I'm saying is - once the comeback started, on offense, the defense, to its credit, manned up and held on. There was no room for error and in fact, Troy had to cooperate by continuing to throw the ball for the comeback to even have a chance. I'm not saying we should go out there and give game balls or special recognition (because that was the offense's comeback), but the defense contributed significantly to the comeback (and, I agree, the defense got us in the hole in the first place.)

belowpar and Chicken have already said he is getting a new DC, he isn't interviewing candidates for fun. Maybe the guy he is after is coaching in a bowl game?

Ron Zook at Florida:
8-5
8-5
7-5
Les Miles at LSU:
11-2
11-2
12-2
7-5 + upcoming Bowl Game
Really? A Coach with a 41-11 record with 2 SEC West Titles & 1 SEC Championship & 1 National Championship & 3-0 in Bowl Games, reminds you of a Coach with a 23-15 record & NO Titles, NO Championships & 0-2 in Bowl Games?

as has been previously stated, do we really want "lame duck" coaches recruiting for us... esp. if, as many TD posters are saying, LM is giving them the opportunity to find other jobs so he won't have to fire them... How enthusiastic do you think they will be recruiting for LSU and at the same time trying to land a new job????

with all due respect to Chicken and belowpar, that's just their word... no link on that yet... just two guys on a message board saying it, so it's true... Please forgive me Chicken and belowpar
