Les and Purdue

I live up here in Indiana and Miles is getting some airtime mentions on the radio up here about the Purdue job.

Would be a homerun for Purdue from a PR standpoint. It would at least put them back on the map. I don't expect Les would win the BIG10 any time soon, but he'd certainly boost their recruiting.

Your an idiot then, Purdue isn't a top tier program in the Power 5 conferences. Miles is a good coach, great recruiter and will build the program back to some semblance of success. He would be a home run for Purdue as long as he doesn't bring Cam Cameron with him but unfortunately that might just happen.

i don't know why people think miles would be good for purdue. his offense would be a complete disaster there.

If Les tries to do the same shite he did at LSU he will win zero games @ Purdue

ssshhhh there are still people who think les miles can change

Their offense is a disaster and they recruit pro passers which is what his offense needs. They can't do worse than what they got and Miles would be a huge upgrade from what they had!

If Les went to Purdue and did what Cutcliffe has done at Duke he would be a hero

Plus, LSU gave him a huge budget to hire some of the best recruiters in the country to recruit to one of the top ten FB programs with impeccable facilities to go along with a hotbed of talent in a talent-rich state.
I'm not saying Miles is a lousy recruiter, but he will have a very hard time getting talent to Purdue.
That job will need an X's and Os coach who can get the most out of the talent that will be willing to go to Purdue.
I don't think Les is a fit at that school tbh.
I think Les would be better suited for Baylor where he already has in-roads built in to get good TX talent.
But wherever he goes, he has to do something about that shite offense.

Were that to play out, I'd be curious as to how many of his former LSU staff would follow him up there. If any.

Hopefully none.
If he was going to struggle to win 7 at LSU with that kind of talent, what is he going to do at Purdue with the talent we have or he could get.
He's a falling star at best.
We could easily get guys who are hungrier. Fleck and Schiano are top of the list. We will pay. WE make the same TV money that Michigan and OSU do. We have the money for sure and are potentially the only BIGTEN squad that will be looking for a new coach. These guys are perfect fits.
Inside sources say we had him in town last night to check things out. I hope it was cold, windy, rainy and the power was out all night.
Les Miles 10 years ago....top 3-5 coach.
Let Miles today....empty hat.

Les will stay at home for a few years and collect checks from LSU then come back home and coach OL

I've listed below all of the years in which a Les Miles coached football team did not win 7 games:
2001 @ Oklahoma State

He can take Peveto with him. He is a very good recruiter. He won't be expected to win 10 games a year. If he can win 7 and sometimes 8 games a year, they will be ecstatic. Get them to a bowl every year. I think he can do that. Maybe he will loosen up on his offense and go back to his OSU days. He definitely won't have as much pressure on him and the conference won't be as tough. He would be on the West side of the conference and wouldn't have to go against Michigan, Ohio St, Michigan St, or Penn St every year. I think there are other places that may be a better fit, but it would also come with more pressure. He is getting to his mid 60s and may want to go to a place with less pressure and a place that would appreciate him more.

Was. The myopic, stubborn guy who's been on our side lines the last few years is not the same guy he was when he got here.
He's cemented in his ways, nonadaptable to any kind change, and worst of all, he just doesn't give a shite about any criticism, even clearly valid criticism--all to the detriment of the team. That concoction of traits has made him stagnant.
He's well past his zenith, and at this point he is nothing more than a mediocre coach who happens to be a great recruiter.

I would love to see this happen. if only to prove you wrong. nothing personal but Les at Baylor sounds hilarious to me. going from a wide open spread to I formation, limited play calling, etc would be a disaster.
as far as recruiting goes, Baylor certainly does not recruit itself; Briles did that.

Prove me wrong how?
Which way? Him doing terrible at Baylor?
I think he should stay retired myself.
I was just saying his apparent strength is recruiting and I feel he would recruit better at Baylor. If he runs the offense he ran at LSU, which he will, he will need to be a great recruiter wherever he goes.
I just picked a school in a territory that has an opening where he has recruited pretty much his whole head coaching career from Okie State to LSU.
