Seems like making such a quick move after Tubbs leaves is to open himself up for Auburn

Auburn, Alabama over Seattle, Washington?

Leach to Auburn is good news for the SEC West. Auburn will be begging Tubbs to come back within 2 years.

This is with regards to Pat Hill pulling his name.
"Hill wanted a decision from the Huskies before he led the Bulldogs back to practice to prepare for their ninth bowl appearance in 10 seasons. But he said Washington officials told him they weren't yet ready to announce their replacement for fired coach Tyrone Willingham."
Does he really think that he has that much pull coming out of Fresno State? He should have been happy they even considered him after such a let down year at Fresno. I am glad he did this because I have never been a Pat Hill fan and was bothered that they even interviewed him.

Pat Hill would have been a horrible hire. It's pointing more and more towards Sark getting a big look. Apparently he had a great interview last week

Why would you say that?

how would you feel about sark leaving?
Big loss?
Could you get someone better than sark?

Wouldn't be too big I don't think. Maybe PC and Norm Chow could put their egos aside and get that train back rollin

what happened w/pete and chow?
Posted on 12/4/08 at 3:26 pm to pioneerbasketball
There was just major tension between the two, which ultimately led to Chow going to tennessee

If Leach wants to attempt to win a BCS title, an SEC platform is better. If he wants a comfy life and sophisticated city life, Washington.
And yes, I know Don James and Washington have the most recent NCAA title in contrast to Auburn's.
Leach doesn't look a city slicker at all, despite his high intelligence.

Wasn't Leach a lawyer in Tenn before coaching football?

2000 Mike Leach 7 6
2001 Mike Leach 7 5
2002 Mike Leach 9 5
2003 Mike Leach 8 5
2004 Mike Leach 8 4
2005 Mike Leach 9 3
2006 Mike Leach 8 5
2007 Mike Leach 9 4
Going into this season averaging 4.6 losses a year.... I have to agree that this is good news for the SEC West also.
