I'm the first person to shite on Louisiana politics, but our politics aren't what makes Louisiana a good place to coach. From a player perspective, "you can shake a tree in La and find a good wide receiver", direct quote from Nick Saban. And that goes for a lot of other positions. Also, the average person, probably 75% of the citizenry, just wants the sport to put out a product that they aren't ashamed of so they don't get pissed while they are having a football game party. So Tom is basically on Mars. He doesn't really have a feel for what makes LSU a great coaching job.
